History[]

Sokoai once roamed the plains of Odaiba in vast herds, before they were tamed in antiquity by the Taajars. Mounted upon them, Taajar Soko-Archers struck terror into the Proto-Imperial tribes. After the defeat of the last Taajar Horde, however, a large portion of the herd was taken as bounty by the Imperials. In present times, most Sokoai are owned by Imperial clans on Odaiba, who use them as working and racing animals. Several Taajar clans are devoted to breeding and training Sokoai, and also train Soko-Archers.

Sokoai are rarely used as transport by the general populace, as most are owned by nobles. They are only commonly seen in Odaiba, and around Taajar lands.

Attributes[]

Sokoai are tall creatures, seven or eight feet tall and weighing near eleven-hundred pounds. Distinguishing features include equine faces, six legs, and three tails. Their metallic skins come in a variety of colors. green and brown are the most common, but but shades ranging from orange to yellow are rarely found.

The Imperial Family is entitled to any rare White or Purple Sokoai. Black Sokoai are considered unlucky.

Relationships[]

Sokoai are treasured by the Taajar, and is to them a symbol of their former power and history. Even today, even the smallest Taajar Clan owns a Soko or two. And Clans that breed them are among the most prestigious within the culture. Among the Imperials, Sokoai are seen as a sign of nobility, or in Odaiba, a clan of sucessful farmers.

They are calm. herbivorous creatures, but are easily frightened if improperly trained.

Trivia[]

  • Stealing a young Soko is a capital crime under Taajar law.
